This out and back half marathon adds an exciting challenge to the grueling 13.1 mile distance, with an uphill first half of the race and tough 1 mile hill climb crossing over the hill just before the halfway point, followed by a short decent. After turning around at the halfway point, running a second crossover climb before the downhill return back to the start. Holladay, Utah (United States of America) - "Drop13 Big Cottonwood Canyon". Considered by many the fastest Half Marathon in Utah. The Drop13 Big Cottonwood Canyon starts at Solitude Ski Resort and runs over 3000 feet down 13.1 miles to Cottonwood Heights City. This race is not only fast but it is beautiful with views of the Spring run off in a roaring river and all the trees and plants are in full green color. This race not only has all these features but it also gives racers 4" finisher medals. Those that PR their half marathon with us get a PR (Personal Record) medal and those that lose 13lbs in the training and running of this race will also get a Drop13lbs medal (Based on Honor System). Kamas, Utah (United States of America) - "High Uinta Half Marathon". High Uinta Half Marathon is a fast race above Kamas/Francis area. We reluctantly use the term Drop13 because of what it represents. Drop13 represents a course that is extremely fast downhill. This course is 99% decline for 13.1 Miles. 2600 feet of decline with very little incline or even flat portions. This course is not just fast but beautiful. Aspens, Pines, rivers, throughout the route. This route starts at one of the highest elevations in Utah for races. Last year July 4 the starting point still had snow all around. This is a great course to get out of the heat and enjoy more of a Spring race in the heart of Summer. www.onhillevents.com

Morgan, Utah (United States of America) - "East Canyon Marathon". The East Canyon Marathon has four distances. Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K. The Full Marathon starts overlooking Salt Lake City at the Big Mountain Pass at the top of Emigration Canyon and heads East. This course follows along pine trees, aspens and follows several miles along the East Canyon Reservoir. The Full joins Half Marathon about 3/4 around East Canyon Reservoir where the Half Marathons starts and then heads down Red Rock Canyon which has great views and landscapes and unique rock formations. Around Mile 20 of the race the course turns into farmland with beautiful fields of grain and cool barns. The Range 2 River Relay is light on competition and heavy on fun! Team Heat For those looking to build friendships and have family-friendly fun! Teams include a biker, boater, and runner. The first participant bikes the path of City Creek. This 7.2-mile leg starts at the Utah State Fairpark - West Lot, bikes up to the City Creek Canyon Trailhead, and ends back at the Utah State Fairpark - West Lot. The second teammate boats the Jordan River northward. This 3.3-mile leg starts at Utah State Fairpark - West Lot and ends at Riverview Trailhead. The scenic Jordan River Trail is utilized for the final stretch of the race. This 3.4-mile leg starts at the Riverview Trailhead and finishes back at the Utah State Fairpark - West Lot. Individual Heat For those looking to test their active transportation and outdoor recreation abilities! Participate in the course as a triathlon. Attention: Competitors are required to bring their own equipment, including a bicycle, bicycle helmet, non-motorized watercraft, paddle(s), and personal floatation device. Kayaks, canoes, personal floatation devices, and paddles rentals from the Jordan River Commission are sold out.
